Unfortunately, the road works associated with the new TESCO on Skipton Road are now programmed to finish on the 4th of December and we fully expect the road to be open from this date.
It is recognised that the Harrogate Christmas Fayre commences from the 5th December, therefore this is a critical completion date that the applicant has been made aware of. North Yorkshire Council officers are working with the applicant’s contractors to ensure the programme is as robust as possible, whilst also understanding the need to balance the disruption for the immediate residents and businesses in the vicinity.
In addition to the one-way system that is in operation, there will be full road closures during the hours of 6:30pm until midnight on the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th of November and 3rd December. This closure will be on Skipton Road between Harewood Road and the roundabout with the A61, however, access into the Harrogate Retail Park will still be provided. Noisy activities will cease from 11pm.
Residents and businesses will be advised of the additional road works in due course. Please be assured that NYC officers are working diligently with the applicant and their contractors to ensure the improvements are delivered to required specifications, with safety for all road users as a priority.
